Jamie Watts, FNP-C, is dual-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and has extensive experience as a registered nurse in emergency and critical care medicine. She joins Saltzer Health in July 2020 to work with patients in the urgent care clinics.
Watts’s clinical rotations included episodic, chronic and infectious disease management at Family Medicine Residency of Idaho where she was fortunate to also care for members of the refugee community through the Refugee Continuity Clinic. At Stark Family Medicine in Ontario, Oregon, she cared for complex, high-acuity patients, in a rural, medically underserved area.
Watts has worked as a registered nurse in emergency departments in Coos Bay, Oregon and Denver, Colorado, and she recently spent two months in New York treating Covid-19 patients in the ED. She completed nursing residencies at St. Anthony Hospital Medical Intensive Care Unit in Lakewood, Colorado. She previously worked as a caseworker in child welfare for Colorado Department of Health and Human Services in Leadville, Colorado.
Watts earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She completed Bachelor’s degrees in Nursing at Regis University in Denver, CO, and in Applied Social Sciences at Colorado State University.
She enjoys giving back to her community through volunteering with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, acting as volunteer medical support for endurance races and she is part of the Central Health District Medical Reserve Corps. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Urgent Care Association.
She enjoys most anything outdoors including skiing, hiking, climbing and peak-bagging, as well as traveling, scuba diving, CrossFit, and working on an endless remodel of her home with her husband.
