Specialty Care Transport

Intermountain Healthcare Specialty Care Transport (IHSCT), is a new Saltzer Health service line that will provide excellent patient care within a value-based care model at a fixed cost, when applicable, to all Treasure Valley Medical Systems requesting its services. Transport services will include basic life support (BLS), advanced life support (ALS), and critical care (CC) services using emergency medical technicians, paramedics, and registered nurses within the scope allowed by the medical director. The team’s station is being planned and developed currently, and when completed will be located at the Ten Mile Saltzer Campus in Meridian. Until permanent crew quarters are completed, Saltzer will provide this temporary site at the Ten mile location to ensure 24-hour coverage for patients. IHSCT will provide excellent patient care through the clinical configuration stated here combining a highly trained pediatric critical care transport RN with a highly trained critical care paramedic. This allows for a span of care from pediatrics to adult, medical and trauma care, as well as high-risk obstetrics. This three-crew member team will allow for BLS, ALS, and CC transport whenever requested, around the clock. IHSCT will train its staff according to best practices designed, managed, and maintained through Saltzer Health and Intermountain Healthcare quality management programs.
